Community

The proximity of the shop to the school ensures that we are the heart of a large scattered community. There is a notice board where local events are advertised and where other items of interest are displayed.

The shop has a large collection of approximately 500 photographs taken of life in the area mainly prior to 1970. These pictures have been donated by local people and the majority have never been displayed publicly before. These were first displayed during the summer of 2011 and in the region of £650 was collected for Macmillan Cancer Support.

There is a large collection of very good quality second hand books that are sold for £1 each, again, with proceeds going to charity.

Used postage stamps are also collected for charity.
